What is Phishing?
Phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. In this case we are speaking of Website forgery.
Why am I receiving this notice?
When Limestone Networks receives an abuse complaint related to a server on your account we automatically notify you via a new ticket in Rockware. The subject of the ticket will read Phish URL reported to be hosted on your account:.
What do I need to do?
In the ticket you will find the domain and IP address that the phishing website is located on. We ask that you suspend or remove the website immediately and reply back to the ticket letting us know the action taken.
How can I be proactive?
Internally, Limestone Networks has been using the help of PhishTank to report phishing websites to our clients. Recently we made this feature available directly to our customers within Rockware. You can access it by clicking on the Servers tab and then clicking phising sites.
